Airport Contamination Meeting Planned

An informational meeting on contamination cleanup in the Salina Airport Industrial Area is planned.
According to the Salina Airport Authority, the Salina Public Entities – City of Salina, Salina Airport Authority, Salina Unified School District 305 and Kansas State University Salina – are scheduled to hold a public meeting to discuss the status of the former Schilling Air Force Base environmental cleanup project on November 20, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the K-State University Salina, College Center Conference Room.
Attending will be representatives from the City of Salina, Salina Airport Authority, Salina School District 305, K-State University Salina, Kansas Department of Health and Environment and Dragun Corporation.
The public is welcome to attend.
Dragun Corp. has been engaged on behalf of the Salina Public Entities to complete a remedial investigation, feasibility study and corrective action decision. Dragun Corp. will provide details on the upcoming environmental investigation work as well as the long-term objectives of the investigation and remediation efforts. Additionally, KDHE will discuss their role in this investigation.
