Ambulance Accident Sends Four to Hospital

A Brookville teenager was transported to the hospital after a two vehicle crash involving an ambulance from Lindsborg.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that 17-year-old Tel Phelps of Brookville was ejected from the car he was driving Sunday evening around 8:20pm, when he turned left in front of an ambulance that was headed eastbound on Crawford toward the hospital running lights and siren.

Emerson suffered possible head injuries in the collision.

The accident happened at the intersection of Broadway and Crawford and sent three other people inside the ambulance to Salina Regional Health Center for observation.

Police say ambulance driver, 23-year-old Kylie McGreevy of Ellsworth had abrasions on her arms and stomach, 33-year-old medic Alesha Schoshke of Lindsborg complained of head and neck pain and Linda Seidel, 68 of Roxbury who was a patient in the vehicle, suffered a cut on her head.

Police report the ambulance hit the driver side of the 2002 Pontiac Firebird, ejecting Emerson from the car.
