8 Indicted In Cocaine Ring

Eight people have been indicted on federal charges of trafficking about $1.7 million of powder cocaine in the Topeka area.

According to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom, the eight have been charged with conspiracy to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine and were indicted Tuesday. Grissom said the eight, six of whom are from Topeka, were a part of a cocaine trafficking conspiracy from October 2014 to July 9, 2015.

The indictment seeks the forfeiture of more than $73,000 seized in a July 9 raid and a money judgment of the $1.7 million profit the scheme allegedly made.
