KSAL Staff - December 19, 2013 11:27 am

Multiple construction tools are stolen from an outbuilding.

A traffic stop for a broken tail light leads to 3 arrests.

According to Sheriff Glen Kochanowski, a deputy on patrol observed a broken tail light on a vehicle traveling on Broadway Blvd. around 4:30pm on Wednesday.

The deputy also communicated with dispatch about identifying a passenger in the car he believed was wanted on a warrant. With assistance from officers with the Drug Task Force, police found 135 grams of methamphetamine and 19 grams of pot with a combined street value of over $13,000.

Police arrested 19-year-old Jason Howard of Salina for possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell.

The driver, 49-year-old Evonne Primeaux of Salina was arrested on 1 count of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

A third man in the vehicle, 28-year-old Reginald Benoit was held on outstanding warrants from Wichita.

Come on a broken tail light? I have driven behind a sheriff truck in the past who was behind a truck which had no tail light lens at all and they did nothing. Is this selective policing or needing an excuse? Glad they got the meth off the street and these people in jail.
