2 Hurt in Two Car Crash

A Salina man was cited in a two car crash that sent both drivers to the hospital for observation.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan tells KSAL News that 75-year-old Gordon Horst was eastbound on Water Well in a 2007 Chevy Uplander van and failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection of Water Well and Old 81 Highway.

Deputies say the van struck a 1998 Nissan Frontier pickup driven by 58-year-old Mark McCready of Mentor as he headed southbound on Old 81.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged and both men were taken by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center to be evaluated.
