2 Drivers Killed in Crash on US 59 in Southeast Kansas

Two drivers are dead after a head-on crash on U.S. 59 in southeast Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened Tuesday afternoon when a sport utility vehicle crossed the center line and slammed into a car about five miles south of the Labette County town of Oswego.

The patrol identified the victims as 40-year-old Hugh Scott Story of Vinita, Oklahoma, and 70-year-old Joan Elizabeth Carrell of Oswego.

Both of them were pronounced dead at the scene.
